Given the relaxation of Covid restrictions, we're gradually re-opening here at Howden Shire Hall starting with some of our hosted groups and classes from 17th May.  See the classes section of our website for more information.

The Shire Hall is a multi-functional building used for community hires such as parties, wedding receptions and fund-raising events. It is also used as an arts centre with live music, theatre, comedy and cinema.

Starting 9th Tuesday November in the Shire Hall, Howden; a weekly class from 10 to 11am in Lee style Tai Chi. Beginners are especially welcome to come and learn the series of graceful, flowing movements designed to create physical, emotional, mental and spiritual harmony. T’ai Chi Ch’uan along with Taoist Yoga and Dao Yin breathing exercises are centuries old Chinese health arts which can help suppleness, balance, confidence and relaxation. The classes are taught by Lesley Darlington who is an experienced and qualified Tai Chi instructor in the East West Taoist Association.
Each class session costs £5.00. It is hoped that, after two to three weeks, students will wish to continue to learn and join the Association whose annual membership fee is currently £25.00. For further details and to book a place please contact Lesley on 01430 410607 or email lesley.darlington@btinternet.com
