When this band announced that it was their last ever gig at Tribfest in August 2019 it was....at Tribfest, for a Tribfest audience.
It is a tremendous pleasure and a wonderful honour that the band have chosen to perform their last ever show, in their 20th year, for their own fans at the Shire Hall on Saturday February 1st 2020. It was a Howden audience some years ago that persuaded them to carry on when it looked like things were coming to an end, they have performed here previously thirteen times, a record if ever there was one.
Invariably the show has sold out, there is a very good reason HEART OF GLASS do that and that is the superlative homage the band pay to Blondie as created by the fantastic Denise Danielle and a wonderful band of musicians.
A tribute to Blondie fronted by the delectable Denise Danielle described as ‘the closest to Debbie Harry yet!’
Heart of Glass are the foremost Blondie Tribute band in the UK. Lead singer Denise Danielle who has put together a stunning replication of a ‘Blondie’ show with all the favourite classics plus a lot more: Atomic, Maria, The Tide Is High, Hanging On The Telephone, Call Me, Denis, One Way Or Another, Sunday Girl and many, many more.
Denise prides herself on authenticity and does 6 costume changes during a show, each reflecting upon the various songs. There is no finer exponent of the songs, style and raw energy of Deborah Harry and Blondie, it is like experiencing the real Blondie in 1978.
Anyone who has seen this band before will need no encouragement to come along, it’s the last one folks, ever, that will make the evening something very special and memorable indeed, you may need to bring some tissues as well as your dancing shoes......
